聴(きく)	Deliberately listen to for minutes at a time (a preacher’s sermon, a college lecture, a shitty techno song)

聞く(きく)	To passively hear a sound (whether intentionally or not). Also, to ask someone a question, (“Where’s the vd clinic?” “Ask your moms “(お母さんに聴け）”)
