This is kind of a COCK because the single most common jukugo: 子供 (kodomo), does NOT use the official on-yomi of KYOU. Not only that, the DOMO in 'kodomo' seems to be taking its pronunciation from 共 (tomo, the right side radical of 供). But they went ahead and used 供 anyway. Let's make 2 kanji that look almost the same and mean almost the same thing, and then use the wrong one in the single most common compound word! That is a rad decision!!!
